Re: [TDK] tclxref failing on first run -- error attachment to follow due to size resdtrictions | Re: [TDK] Basic help with TclXref
Anyone get Tcl Xref to work?

I saw one message for tclxref in which someone was able to get tclxref to scan their files b
ut not display anything (though their message has no replies at all).

http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mail/Message/tdk/3718654

I finally figured out how to get at least this far, but now I am stuck here, too.

We’re in the mode of thoroughly validating our Tcl/Expect code so we’d like to remove an
y unnecessary, unused globals, local, procs, etc.

1. I tried getting TclXref to work but could not find an easy way in the GUI to select files
.

2. File> Scan file for database>Komodo project looked promising so I tried that and it pinged
back with a pop-up titled File Format Error saying “No files found”

3. I found in the TclXref docs “tclxref –scan <dbname> <filelist>” so I tried this and
it opens tclxref and tclchecker, runs for a while then stops and makes <dbname> . Upon openi
ng <dbname> there is nothing in tclxref.

4. My Komodo project uses Live Import so I made a duplicate project using “Import from Fil
e System…”, opened tclxref, and clicked File> Scan file for database>Komodo project. This
time it scanned it and I got a little blue square ping-ponging in the bottom right hand cor
ner. When it finished scanning…voila! An empty TclXref window! (same as #3).

I did this all in TDK v4.x, then uninstalled, and did it again in TDK v5.0.2, with the same
results.

Is there a way that I can create a TXR (TclXref db file) manually? Or maybe use an old versi
on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Aaron

I even opened up the database file and it doesn’t really show anything that I could see as
being useful or at least representative of my files. Here’s a copy of my database file as
 viewed from WordPad:
