The next Vancouver XML Developers Association meeting will be held Wednesday
October 19, 2005. The featured speaker is Dave Johnson, discussing "AJaX:
Old Dog New Tricks".

Description: The recently coined term AJaX has given new life to web
development and spurred on the advance of Web 2.0. This talk will take a
look at the history of AJaX techniques, today's best practices, and where
AJaX might be going in the future. In particular, identification and
analysis of some of the more important AJaX techniques will be discussed. As
well as the technologies behind AJaX, the talk will also touch on both
usability and development issues facing the Web today. 

About the Speaker: Dave Johnson is co-founder and XML Evangelist at
eBusiness Applications, a software consulting company based in North
Vancouver. Dave has been working with all things XML (XSD, XSLT, WS-*,
ebXML, XAML) for over 7 years. He has a BASC degree from the University of
British Columbia and a Masters degree from Imperial College of Science,
Technology and Medicine.

Admission is free. Everyone is welcome to attend this event.
