New Visual Python Release: Beta Testers Wanted
ActiveState is pleased to announce the release of Visual
Python 1.8, featuring Visual Studio .NET 2003 compliance.
Visual Python 1.8 marks a significant upgrade over previous
versions, with new features including:
- Interactive Window: Try out your Python code and get
immediate feedback
- Remote Debugging: Debug CGI and server apps written in
Python, even on other machines
- Broad Python Version Support: Now works with versions 2.1,
2.2, and 2.3, for ActivePython and other installations
- Updated Help: Complete language reference now included
- Expanded Intellisense: Statement completion covers all
installed modules

PerlASPX, Perl Dev Kit, Visual Perl, and Visual Python are
also now fully compliant with Microsoft's new release.
All releases are free updates to registered owners of
previous versions.
