I am deeply sorry for the situation on the visualpython-discuss 
mailing list during the last few days.  As you know, the
membership list of the moderated announce list was inadverdently
copied to the unmoderated  visualpython-discuss list.  When many
of you rightfully asked to be unsubscribed from a list you had
never joined, the problems were just exacerbated.  This has 
happened to me in the past, fortunately not very often, and I
share and understand your frustration.

The visualpython-discuss membership list has been emptied.  So
those of you who have downloaded the Visual Python Beta, please
feel welcome to sign on.  I'm also looking into working out a
more flexible interface for handling unsubscription requests.
