Hello,
The Beta license for Visual Python Beta 2 recently expired,
on August 30, to be exact, regardless of when it was installed.
The installation also fails to complete if initiated after that date.
A recharged version of Visual Python Beta 2 is now available at
http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Downloads/VisualPython/
This version will expire either on January 1, 2002, or 21 days after
you install it, whichever happens earlier. I expect that we will have
published a new version of Visual Python before that happens.
We have tested this version to verify that it will work right up until
midnight January 1, 2002, Pacific Standard Time.
There have been no other features added, or bugs fixed in this Beta.
The old MSI, Beta 2, build 1941, has two errors in the Remove
section. When you are uninstalling it you will see a "Just in time"
runtime error. Please ignore this error, and tell the MSI to
continue. This error *has* been fixed in the new beta, as well as our
other Visual Studio.NET plug-ins.
Sincerely,
Eric Promislow and the ActiveState Visual Studio products team
