I looked at the code and didn't see anything in it that was Py2.6
specific, so I removed the restriction in setup.py when I built the
PyCairo package. There were some compile errors, probably due to my
using MS VC++ instead of the mingw32 that the PyCairo authors probably
used, but they were easily fixed. So for me at least that build of
PyCairo and Cairo 1.8.6 works fine with Python 2.5.
