For B2B/more formal systems, I entirely agree. The whole ROI of XML is such cases is to make
 it easier to create valid instances, and validate content early. There's still hard applica
tion problems there though.

For humanly created documents, I've found it *very* rare for people to mark up document well
, even if they were asked to use word styles or somesuch.
