No, no updates, and I doubt that updates will be in XQuery 1.0.

As before, several vendors are implementing similar versions of updates 
based on an early proposal. The best formulation of that proposal is now a 
thesis done by Patrick Lehti:

There should be some public proposal based on that, but I doubt that it 
will be part of the XQuery 1.0 Rec per se.
