There is one (perl) in Greenstone http://www.greenstone.org
There is a PDF reader in Multivalent Browser (java) 
http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~phelps/Multivalent/ that writes to 
multivalent.Document.  It seems worth writing a toString() method in that 
class that exports to XML.  I'd be interested to know if anyone plans to 
try that.
