I am having a little issue in using the same template for two different
  purposes.

that is exactly what modes are for.

 Put mode="zzz" on one of the
templates and mode="zzz" on the xsl:apply-templates that you wantto use
that mode.

As discussed earlier this week on this list

  <location path="..\..\..\"> Entorpresse</location> 
  <location path="..\..\"> KFC</location> 

all your ..\ should be ../  "\" does not mean a path separator in a URI.
