[xsl] stupid question that I cannot refrain myself from asking

[xsl] Announce: XSLT Cookbook | RE: [xsl] html attributes
I have just posted about my issues with getting a transformation using asp.
The answer appears to lie in which parser my web hosting service is using,
however:

If I run a xml page on this same server in which the xsl template is called
within it, it works fine.

I would like to know if that transformation is handled locally while the one
called from my asp page is handled by a parser on the webserver? Is this
true?

Thank you to any kind souls who respond.

-jen
