What's Included in ActivePython

In addition to the binary distribution of Python, ActivePython includes a suite of tools and resources to enhance Python programming productivity.

Python Productivity Tools

• PythonWin Development Environment, for the Windows platform, developed by the Python guru Mark Hammond. To run the PythonWin IDE, click Start|Programs|ActiveState ActivePython 2.2|PythonWin Environment.
• Python Package Manager a utility for managing Python extension modules. To run the Python Package Manager, click Start|Programs|ActiveState ActivePython 2.2|Python Package Manager (Windows). To run from a shell or command prompt, enter pyppm (Linux or Windows)
• Python Win32 Extensions for Windows registry and filesystem interactions.
• PythonCOM for integrating Python with COM and ASP.
